As a blue cheese, Gorgonzola is a fairly uncommon pizza topping.
Gorgonzola, when used sparingly, adds an amazing flavour and texture to pizza, and can be used in either red or white pizzas with just about any combination of toppings.

Gorgonzola goes on Pizza with…
I’m a big believer in trying many combinations of pizza toppings, until you find the ones that suit you the best. However, to help you navigate the multitude of pizza styles and toppings, try these;
- Gorgonzola and Olives
- Pineapple and Gorgonzola
- Gorgonzola and Basil
Don’t stop at those though, keep trying various combinations and amounts. I prefer 3-6 toppings; any more, and my pizza is too heavy and no topping stands out very well. That’s just my personal taste though.
Does Gorgonzola belong on Pizza?
Haven’t you being paying attention? Absolutely, it does! My favourite is pairing it with thinly sliced pear, on an olive oil sauce base.
